<p>In order for this information to mean anything, you need to be aware of the types of fat. Some types of fat are trans fat, saturated fat, and poly and monounsaturated fats. Trans fats are fats that are solid fats, but still cause problems to your body. For foods like fry foods there will be more trans and saturated fat. These are the fats that you are expected to cause high cholesterol and blood clots.</p>
<p>If you see the words partially hydrogenated cooking oil or hydrogenated cooking oil they contain trans fat that you should only eat a small amount. These include food like crackers, chips and cookies. it can also include shortening, butter, and lard. Since trans fat hasn’t always been included when it comes to fat free labels, you’ll want to be able to read on the label that there are 0 grams of trans fat; otherwise it might not be fat free.</p>
<p>The saturated fats are the ones that you will find in things like dairy, eggs, and meat. You can also find them in oils like coconut and palm. These are the fats that turn solid when they are at room temperature.</p>
<p>Another thing you need to take a close look at is carbohydrates. When your body doesn’t use them all, they turn into fat. This again means that the label can say fat free, but cause you to gain weight when you eat too much than your body needs. </p>
